By using WhiskerWatch, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. Our mission is to reunite lost pets with their families using AI technology, and these terms help ensure the platform works effectively for everyone.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, uploading pet photos, or using any WhiskerWatch service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use WhiskerWatch
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- One account per person (no shared accounts)
Acceptable Use
You May:
- Report your missing pets and upload their photos
- Report sightings of found pets to help reunite them
- Use our AI matching technology to search for your lost pet
- Share missing pet cases on social media to spread awareness
- Communicate with other users to coordinate reunions
You May NOT:
- Upload photos that don't belong to you without permission
- Submit false reports or fake sightings
- Use the platform for commercial breeding or sales
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Attempt to reverse engineer or compromise our AI technology
- Scrape or harvest data from the platform
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
Content Ownership
Your Content:
- You retain ownership of all photos and content you upload
- By uploading, you grant WhiskerWatch a license to use your photos for matching and displaying in search results
- You can delete your content at any time from your account dashboard
Our Technology:
- WhiskerWatch owns all AI models, algorithms, and platform technology
- Facial recognition profiles are generated data, not your original photos
- We may use anonymized data to improve matching accuracy (see Privacy Policy)
Subscription Tiers
Finder Free (Default):
- Report found pet sightings
- Help reunite pets with their families
- Cannot register your own pets
Guardian Plans (Paid):
- Register multiple pets with biometric profiles
- Receive instant match alerts when your pet is sighted
- Priority support and advanced search features
- Billing handled securely via Stripe
Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. You can cancel anytime without penalty.
AI Matching Disclaimer
Important: WhiskerWatch uses advanced AI facial recognition, but it's not perfect:
- Matches are suggestions, not guarantees
- Always verify a match in person before taking action
- Accuracy depends on photo quality and pet appearance changes
- We are not liable for false positives or missed matches
Use common sense and follow local laws when attempting to recover a pet. If unsure, contact animal control or local authorities.
Liability and Warranties
WhiskerWatch is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee:
- 100% uptime or availability
- Perfect AI matching accuracy
- Successful pet recovery outcomes
- Freedom from bugs or errors
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhiskerWatch is not liable for:
- Lost profits or indirect damages
- Injuries or disputes arising from pet recovery attempts
- Data loss (though we implement robust backups)
- Third-party service failures (Stripe, email providers, etc.)
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for subscriptions in the last 12 months.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these terms of service
- Submit repeated false reports
- Harass other users or staff
- Attempt to abuse or exploit the platform
You may close your account at any time via Settings. Upon closure, your data will be deleted within 30 days (see Privacy Policy).
Dispute Resolution
If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@whiskerwatch.ai. We'll do our best to resolve it quickly.
For legal disputes, you agree to resolve them through binding arbitration rather than court litigation (except for small claims court). This saves everyone time and money.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
